EmberHearth
Adoption Information
- EmberHearth
is proud to be celebrating over 10 years of experience & dedication to the
Ragdoll!
-
- We are West
Virginia's
first TICA, CFA & ACFA
- registered Ragdoll
Cattery... Others have followed,
- but we're still
here... doing what we love!
The Adoption fee:
Includes one or more lovable EmberHearth
kittens, several articles of interest to help you and your kitten through the
bonding process, our adoption contract detailing our health guarantee
and policies, vaccinations, a vet checkup, spay or neuter as applies,
registration paperwork and a starter kitten gift (toys, food, etc).
We work very hard to treat each kitten
as an individual. You are welcome to reserve as early as you wish to ensure a
specific kitten (color/gender) but please let us guide you, helping to match a
kitten to your environment. We use the "first come, first serve" by
deposit method to create our waiting list.
Pet/Companion kittens:
Our kittens are between the ages of 12 and
14 weeks old when we allow them to be released into their new forever homes.
Here is an article explaining the reasons behind this age limit:
http://www.breedlist.com/faq/young.html
Our cats and kittens are guaranteed Feline
Leukemia and Feline Aids negative. We test our colonies as opposed to
vaccinating.
Vaccinations:
Our kittens will have had two age
appropriate vaccinations for upper respiratory virus at approximately 9 and 12
weeks old. All adult cats adopted will be current on all "core"
vaccines.
Notes on Spay/Neuter:
Remember this; WE are taking all
risks for you. If the kitten should have a sensitivity found during
surgery...it happens on us, not you. Should you decide to adopt a kitten under
a spay/neuter contract from another breeder and your kitten dies or a
sensitivity is found...it's on YOU...not your breeder. Ragdolls have
also been known to present mature issues, i.e. spraying male, in-season
female by FOUR/FIVE months of age. A contract giving you six months to alter
may result in your dealing with these messy issues yourself. Our policy of
kittens being altered PRIOR to their release is non-
negotiable.
Breeding Kittens/Cats:
If you inquire about breeding cats/kittens, be
prepared to show proof of a working cattery with association
documentation and proof that your program participates in early alter.
Payment:
Deposits can be accepted by way of personal
check, money order or PayPal. Final payment is due upon the release (pick up)
of the kitten by way of money order, cashiers check or cash. PayPal arrangements can be made upon request; an additional 3% service charge will
incur and all fees must be made at least 10 days prior to the kittens release
date.
